Crispy lettuce that forms large, round, tight heads. They are much more tender than standard iceberg varieties. Extra-wavy leaves are very thick, dark green, with a good full-bodied taste. It is considered one of the best salads for summer growing. It shoots slowly and is exceptionally heat resistant like all Batavia varieties, and the taste is sweet and fresh, even in mid-summer.
